Water pressure guage is just that, <br />it messure water pressure coming form the water pump.<br />I have seen it mostly on outboard setups. <br />It indicates the health of your water pump.

As OBJ or Dhadley have pointed out before, it is also useful to check that the water pump inlet remains in the water when tilting the engine up as with some newer props the inlet can be uncovered before the prop is. It is also useful to check that the inlet has not become clogged after encountering weeds or mud.

You could track down the manufacturer of the gauge and contact them directly, but you may find that they do not sell retail. Skip all of the headaches and contact Mako. You may pay a little more, but Mako will most likely get the gauge to you quickly, with no run-around.
