Big Bay 15" High Bright Outdoor Display

Does anyone have experience with Big Bay displays? I'm considering using the 15" high bright outdoor display with a Furuno BB Navnet system.

Dont really know to much about them first hand. I do know they a rather expensive. They do have a high quality LCD screen. My buddies is powdercoated with a couple of small nicks/scratches in the case and are showing some small sign of corrosion on those spots. Other than that

How long has he had the display? Is it exposed to the elements or within the boat?

It was a late 2004 Christmas present from himself. Its fix mounted on the open flybridge and definately exposed to the elements. He does have a cover for it when not in use. It doesnt seem to bother him that it is out in the weather, but if it were mine I would take a little better care of it. I have seen it drink saltwater on several occasions.
