I don't think you would want to pay the toll if there was one available. And you would need a 24 volt charger.
That said keep in mind that the bigger the battery(s)(more lead) the longer it will run and the more charge cycles it will accept.A battery that is regularly discharged to say 40% will have fewer recharge cycles than one that is regularly discharged to say 60%.And of course if it only is discharged to 80% it would be even better. One of the best batteries dollars to amp hours is the Trojan deep cycle.Generally speaking The heavier the battery the better the performance
(more lead)My electric car uses 6 Trojan 12 volt
30 XHS batteries for 72 volts.Motive power is absolutely the very worse abuse on a battery.Often approaching the 40% max. discharge allowed in only about 1 hr run time under ideal conditions. These batteries will still often go 400 cycles or more. They cost about $120.Of course Trojans are available in smaller sizes typically 24,27.Smaller sizes have shorter run times. All deep cycle batteries need to be recharged as soon as possible after use.
Wheather 10 minutes use or an hour.

I believe you can buy an 24V aircraft battery but why. It's not intended for deep cycle demands. Two 12V deep cycles connected in series is a far more economical and practical setup.

Re: 1 24v battery?

I stand corrected..(and informed).. It's just that i have a 14" lund running about 280lbs, and i want to be able to plane it with my 1971 18 hp evinrude.. My troller weighs about 60 lbs, plus 2 40 pound batts + fat brother= trouble.. Took all my cash to even get the rude going and no cash to upsize motor. I figured as much anyways.. Anyone wanna trade a 24v bow mount 48lb thrust minn kota pro plus troller for a 12v similar unit? ill split shipping if so. Thanks for the info..

Check your local marine dealers and strike a deal with them. They probably have more call for 24V and would be happy to trade you a 12.

I don't think one 40# battery and a few pounds of difference on trolling motor weight is going to make or break your speed.I once got a big 15 ft plywood runabout with a 18 to plane with 5 adults aboard.probably in the 18-20 mph range.Close to 700# in people alone.Certainly not easy but it did work.Assuming your motor is in good shape it is capable of about 27 mph under ideal conditions lightly loaded.Careful placement of weight and careful trimming of your motor should result in a good chance to plane.
Start with the antivent plate about even with the bottom of the boat and raise the motor 1/4 inch at a time until just before ventilation becomes a problem.Use 1/4 inch sticks to support the motor.Just be sure the clamps have a good grip and it is pumping water. If you can raise the motor 1 inch from its present spot you could gain 2 or more mph. top speed.Be sure your prop is in good condition and the right one for your purpose.Believe it or not a good big barebones 14 has a better chance of planing than one of the smaller ones.Smaller 14s run about 150#.Try to trim your extra weight.
Maybe a 3 gallon tank if you don't go too far or a plastic tank filled 1/2 way.
A nice light fluke type anchor instead of a 30# mushroom.40qt cooler instead of 80.Or one of those cheap styrofoam coolers.A couple of those little plastic paddles instead of oars.
