I have a motorguide powerplus F52V and was wondering if anyone knows what prop to put on it can I use a minn kota? Also it is 52lbs thrust how much battery power does it draw? I have a walmart everstart 27DC-6 and it went dead before the day was out.

Unless the battery was a deep cycle (and a large one) the battery won't last all day. I doubt that a MinnKota prop will fit although one might be able to modify it. Why not try MotorGuide for a replacement prop?

What does everyone do when they go out for the weekend then? Well the stores around here have minn kota props I could get a motorguide prop but would have to order it.

>What does everyone do when they go out for the weekend then?

There are a variety of solutions and much depends on your usage.

If you drive far enough between lakes, there are on-board chargers that will recharge your boat batteries while you drive to the lake.

You can take multiple batteries and swap them out.

You can visit the local service station. Ask them how much they will charge :) to recharge your spare overnight. I've done this quite a few times and typically, they only charge you a few bucks.

If you are at a resort with electricity at the dock, install an onboard charger. Plug in whenever you are at the dock. If that's not possible, as was indicated earlier, your options are limited. Portable generator, use your tow vehicle, or be real conservative on use of the troller.
