choosing a kicker motor

We want a 9.9hp longshaft kicker motor for our 18ft Seaswirl runaout. Suzuki, Johnson, Honda, Nissan, Yamaha, etc? Who makes the most durable, and well engineered motor?

I like my Merc because of the shifter being on the tiller. I've got a '90 15 hp. and it's been trouble free after 11 years of constant use. Think I'd get a 4 stroke next time tho so I don't have to deal with the smoke.

Shift on the handle is a great feature. Plus<br />the 9.9 work wonderfull. even though it is an ect motor.<br />...have fun...corm
