I have just recently ordered the top part of the wiring harness for this and have extra wires that I do not know where they go. Do you have a wiring diagram? Or perhaps a picture?
Also I dropped the lower unit for water pump replacement and for some reason it will not go all the way up and in...Could there be something blocking it from going in a snug fit? Please advise. Thanks

I've got that motor too (mine is electric start--which has a different wiring ) than a pull start.
I bought a Clymers book for $29.00, so I could work on my own engine. Would suggest doing the same. If I had a digital camera, I could e-mail you a copy of the schematic sheet, but......

Hi I have an electric start as well. Is there anyway you can photo copy the page and fax it to me? I would really appreciate it! I have a book but it doesn't show the wiring for that particular motor it is a book for several Johnson motors and really focuses more on the other ones then the 25 hrse. I really just need the wiring diagram.... Thanks for any help

Hi Deedee

Did you get the shift rod all the way in the little clamp in the leg ?. Remember the lower bolt has to be out when assemblying. Some of these motors also have an o-ring around the driveshaft where it meets the cranckshaft. If you are in bad luck this little oring can stick to the cranckshaft and beforced with in when you disassemple. Get something long and sharp, and pull it out. Remember to grease the driveshaft splines good before assemblying - very good.
