misfiring??????help

hi, <br /> i have a 85 v4 vro 115 evinrude and it will idle like a champ but when u increase throttle its like its running on 3 cylinders. could it a fouled plug, off time, please help.

Possable causes include a fouled plug,yes. Also fuel starvation,low compression, coil breaking down, switchbox breaking down, trigger,loose magnet in the flywheel, or water entering a cylinder.<br />When you pull the plugs, examine the condition of them.They will give a great indication of how the cylinder they service is operating. Also, while the plug is out, thread a compression gauge in, and check it.

hi,<br /> did a compression check and they all read between 115-120 and when i examine the plugs there is a little water residue...so does that help

If you have water on the plug then it is most likely a blown head gasket. That would cause the problem you described.
