I recently took out my 73 Glastron with the above outboard and the powerpack on the backside of the engine smoked a bit and in removing it I can see that is is going to need to be replaced due to a burnt hole the size of a tip of a ball-point pen. I live in Sacramento, CA and would be willing to order online if necessary but I need to find out where I can pick one up and how much it is going to set me back. I think it had been going out as the engine had starting problems prior to the little incident but the engine only has apx 180 hours on it so I think it is worth replacing. Thank you for your time!

LostBoater72

IT SEEMS TO ME THAT SEILER IS THE ONLY ONE THAT HAS THE 125 HP 1972 JOHNSON POWERPACK AND IT IS $235? I was hoping for a little less. Any other suggestions? Thanks!

Costly '72 repairs

Re: 1972 Johnson 125hp Powerpack Burnt up

I have a 72 100HP, which I think has the same pack,, I just put a new powerpack on mine and it cost me $370 AUD (half it for USD or $185 AUD)

Schematic on this list has mentioned before that packs can sometimes be fixed.. maybe you should look up those threads..

Try looking around locally.. I found an old guy that had one left over.. works great..

you could also check marine wreckers for a 2nd hand one..

thats how I got mine, and I didn't do that badly.. (got it cheaper then anywhere i found online.)

regards

frank
