Boat sat for 2 yrs. New battery & starter.
Added 8 oz bottle of OMC 2+4 fuel conditioner to
fresh 6 gal tank of gas.
I also drained line of old fuel before running.
The motor started after about 4 tries and idled
real nice.
When I put it in gear it stalled at first.
After I let it idle for a while it went into gear without stalling but only at idle speed.
When I try to punch the throttle the motor stalls and takes a few tries to restart.
Is this a fuel problem?
Do the carbs need to be cleaned because the old fuel setting in there for 2 yrs?
If so how do I go about cleaning carbs?
Does anyone know of a good howto manual for cleaning these carbs?
Or might the problem be something else I've over looked?
I'm puzzled because this motor ran perfect last time I had it out(sept 2000).

thanks ... but I don't have a manual.
Do I really need a manual before I attempt to clean?
Or is there some sort of manual that comes with a carb kit or something?
I have sucessfully rebuilt a Holly 4 barrel carb with the kits you can buy.
Is there no need for a kit here ... just a good cleaning?

Carb sounds varnished. Rebuild them.
Manual is a good idea.
Carbs are easy to do but there are some hidden passages that without the manual you might miss unless you know what you are looking for.
Kits are about $16 and contain most new internal components. You need 1 for each carb.
A manual cost about $30.
Also manual may be needed to reset timing linkage.
