1987 30hp evinrude

the motor was not starting at all, I have spark at plugs and I took the fuel pump off the side thinking maybe a gasket was not pumping, the pump fell apart and I can't for the life of me figure out how to reassemble it. there are 2 springs a cap and another piece of plastic. Help!

Howdy, Traveling man.<br /><br />Please don't be offended, but one of our members here has a tagline that says, in effect: "He who works on an outboard without a manual has a fool for a mechanic."<br /><br />I concur. Write it off and get a manual and an overhaul kit.<br /><br />If you still have the problem, look up THIS thread and update us.<br /><br />Good luck.

I could not agree more with you about the manual. I had no intention about disassembling the pump. I had taken it off and was holding it and the dog ran by jumped up and I dropped it. I looked in one manual but it didn't show the assembly instructions. Maybe just buy a new one but hate that shotgun technique when fixing anything

traveling man,<br /><br />Buy a kit, it has an exploded view of the pump in it.
