what is the coil out put for a 1967 evinrude sport four 60 hp <br /><br />also can i buy platinum plugs for this engine?

I can tell you I put an auto coil(with built in resistor) on my 1965 75hp v4 and ran it several years without problems. I had to disconnect the original resister wire. <br /><br />The OMC coils were out of production and I had no options...then an old time omc mechanic told me there wasn't enough difference in the coils to worry about and to put the auto coil on...he was right.

Sounds good for the coil. Often they short out to ground or primary if bad.<br /><br />I have best luck with NGKs in OBs.

billp, do i just add a wire to the hot side of the battery or a new switch or how do i remove the resistor wire? also how do i connect a tachometer to this engine?
