I'm looking for information on an Evinrude Sportwin outboard motor, the only number I could find was on the side, 4423-11014. I dont know the horsepower or how old it is. It's a 2-cylinder motor. The gas tank goes around the flywheel. Can you help me?

To Bear:

Thank you for responding so quickly. This is my first visit to iboats, and I'm not sure if I'm doing this replying to your answer correctly. My friend has this motor, it's in pieces. He'd like to sell it to me for $50.00. Is there a manual available and can I still get parts for this motor?

Bear,

Now you have me all nostalgic. When I was a kid, I had a motor just exactly like that. I would not have a clue how many hours I had on it, but I would use it to float firewood rafts (used to tack logs together and run her a few miles against the current. Had to row as hard as I could with the engine going full speed to make any headway!), and fishing, and generally every chance I had, for years and years and years, all in salt water.
Never did anything to the motor, and it still runs just fine. My little brother has it in Idaho, and fool that I am, told him he could keep it over there.

I am sure you can get parts, but we always used to fix little things with anything we could figure out that would work.

If you don't want to buy it, let me know. I will.

(jwalsh@tdn.com)

plywoody- Thanks for your response also. It sounds like you have alot of good memories. I've sent you an e-mail. I already have the motor. I just need to know if I can get repair manuals or order parts. Thanks again
