1973 evinrude 50hp

I bought a 1973 50hp evinrude lark on a 13ft boat.While fishing the prepeler hit the ground and no longer turns when put in gear.I was told the sheer pin was prob broke,I was wondering where this is located or if anyone may have any other suggestions on a fix.I know nothing about boat engines,But do know basic mechanics.

csmithll,I don't believe that your 1973 50 hp has a pin drive prop.It should be thru hub exhaust in which case you may have what is refered to as a spun prop hub.That is the rubber damper between the prop barrel and the propshaft spline.Close visual inspection may confirm whether it has spun.You can have it rehubbed at a prop shop or dealership.
