Hi

I need some advice re: removing the lower unit on my 86 VRO V-4 Johnson in order to change the impeller. I disconnected the shift linkage at the "Jesus" pin beneath the lower carb; then removed all the lower unit bolts. I was able to separate the lower unit slightly, but it didn't want to drop off. I tried a little gentle persuasion with a few taps from a rubber mallet, but no go. How much persuasion is usually required? Should it just pull right off or should I expect to have to pry it off? The manual says the shift should be in reverse position; this didn't seem to help any. Any advice you guys out there can offer is appreciated...never did this before but am always willing to give anything a go...once!
Thanks

Are you sure you have all the bolts out? There is one under the trim tab.

Make surea ll the bolts are out... like the last post said under the zinc theres a bolt. The exhaust housing gets stuck sometimes. just wiggle it back and forth up and down untill it falls off. if the bolts are you it will slide off
