Re: SEABIRD boats

I have had a 1965 18ft seabird for about two years now. Paid $1500 for it and it came with a running 1972 evinrude OB. About the boat. The seller had said he did the deck when we bought it but he didnt do a good job. Multiple soft spots, mostly near transom. Need to install a livewell so i have to redo deck heavy duty. The great part about the boat is that itll run 30mph wide open. The hull shudders when you land after a big wave. Actually, the boat is quite good at rough water. My dad and i took it out 1.5 miles in around 5-7. BOw cuts the waves nicely. Only took one over the bow another time (but thats beacuase i was at the bow trying to get a mooring line in 3-5. The ride can be quite hard so i would suggest you take a sea trial prior to any purchase. Hope this helps. any questions ill be happy to answer.

------------------
Mike

Re: SEABIRD boats

In spite of the name, Seabird is not a sea boat. It is an inshore boat, and then only when well maintained. Mistakes out there are deadly.

Red sky.
JB
