If the gear is attached to the flywheel, it requires a flywheel puller that screws int the three little holes and has a bolt that tightens down on the shaft.
Many tool stores will carry what they call a harmonic balancer puller that will, most times, work just fine. If they offer a heavy duty version get that one.
