engine reliability

good day this is my first post.i just purchased a 14ft starcraft aluminum boat with a 1984 evinrude 25 hp motor.can any one tell me about the reliability,and or good and bads about this motor. the motor runs excellent,and is in good shape.any info would be greatly appreciated.<br /><br />z

I have a an old 1976 twin 35 hp and a 25 hp that run just fine. Both are used in salt water. Just to let ya know that they are tough engines. These old fellows have been around a while. Other than keeping regular maint. on them and keeping fuel stabilizer /gas treatment they have are much of a problem.

These were well-built, sturdy motors. With good maintenance, you can expect many more years of service from it.
