I have just purchased a boat with a 115 hp Evinrude (115393M), I first thought I had bad batteries. I purchased a new battery today, 625CA/500CCA, I charged the battery and the engine turns over very slow. That is why I bought a new battery. I removed the spark plugs and checked the timing, it appears to be correct. #1 piston up and timing mark arrow is on TDC mark on flywheel. I tried turning over the engine while the plugs are out and it turns over very fast, obviously it won't start because the plugs are out. Two weeks ago it ran fine until the end of the day when i had to get towed in because it wouldn't start
. Am I experiencing an airflow problem or a voltage problem? The boat has not been run for two weeks while I made modifications to the boat interior and rewired my accessories.
