Happy Tuesday!! Have a noted 70 hp, read lots of postings so I cleaned the tri-carbs, including the high speed jets. Checked for clogged gas lines, correct float height, clear float bowl inlet jet and no damage to the float valve. All looked good when I was done. BUT...most times the motor boggs down/hesitates, almost dies, when I give it full throttle. If I baby the throtte back and forth slowly increasing, it will eventually pick up power. I also checked the gas tanks for no vacuum. Hesitates with both gas tanks.
My thinking is why when the float bowl seem full and the jets clean? Spark problem? Erradic advance?

There were several bulletins out for those motors concerning jetting back then. Its just a matter of rejetting for todays fuel.

Start with the basics. Compression, proper top rpm, good spark etc. Once you have verified your motor is running properly otherwise you (and your dealer most likely) can handle the jetting.

Good luck!
