i have a johnson sea horse 5 hpoutboard. model #cd-12. serial #1295239, what year is it. also what is the proper fuel to oil ratio and what kind of oil should i use

I seem to get the venerable 1955 Johnson 5hp, which would be a 24:1 ratio. If it was the 80's it would be 50:1. <br />Either way you want to run a TCW-3 rated outboard oil, no matter what's written on the engine. They just hadn't been invented then.<br /><br />Modellguide
