I recently acquired a 18 hp. evinrude fastwin 1963. When operating in a tank it appears to run normal however when the motor was installed on a boat and put in gear it began to skip in and out of gear when accelerating. Reverse is fine it only happens in forward about 3/4 throttle. I am looking for some insight into potential problems and solutions. Thanks.
