I replaced the ignition switch because a key broke off in it and now I can't get the right schematics to get it wired up. Can someone help me with this?
Joe Reeves, the colors of the wires arene red, one yellow, and yellow and black, two blacks, one brown, two purples, one white or light yellow, and the iginition is 5 prong with 2m's, b, c, s, a.
Maybe this will help.

This is how I wired my 1981 115.

I wired it as follows:
C: purple w/ white=primer
S: yellow w/red=start circuit
M: between S&B 2 leads black w/ yellow= stop curcuit.
B: red=b+
M: between B&A black=ground
A: purple=b+

pbailey
pbailey, on the m between the s & b is it a total of three wires; two blacks and one black&yellow? can you explain what you meant by M:between S&B 2 leads black w/yellow=stop circuit and B: red=b+
coylee,

That would be:

C: purple with white stripe = Primer or electric choke.

S: yellow with red stripe = start curcuit
M: between S&B 2 leads black with yellow stripe = stop circuit.
B: red wire= battery +
M: between B&A black wire= ground
A: purple wire= accessories. This is a wire that runs switched accessories, such as fuel gauges etc. It is attached to the battery positive somewhere in the wiring harness and when attached to accessories, it will provide power to them only when the switch is turned on.

What I meant by M between S&B is, that was the position of that M lug relative to the S lug and B lug. Same explaination for the other M lug between B&A.

If you bought this switch new and it is OMC, the wiring diagram is on the back of the package.

pbailey
pbbailey, thank you for the information. i have the wiring schematics on the package but it looks as though someone has rewired the wires and there not the same as shown on the schematics therefore i have to chase them down and hopefully find the right colored wires... thanks again!
