My 1970 115 evinrude will start and shut down after about 10-15 seconds of running. When I pull the plugs they are wet. I rebuilt the carbs and the same problem. I replaced the fuel pump and still the wet plugs. The compression is good, 125 on all 4. The spark is good, 1/4 to 1/2". I really need another brain to help me pick this problem. thanks

Re: wet plugs

As the engine starts to die squeeze the primer bulb. If it picks right up you have a fuel supply problem (air in the lines?? - check little o rings in the fuel line connectors). If that dosen't do it take the air silencer off of the front of the carbs and squirt some premix in as the engine starts to die. If it picks up check fuel pump pressure per your manual or back to the carbs:

http://www.outboardrepairs.com/carburetors/

Could also check for clogged strainer at the end of the fuel pick-up.
