I ran the motor all day on Saturday, but on Sunday I ran it for about 15 minutes (10 minutes at high speed), then it suddenly bogged down. I've seen posts about the gas tank vent, and wondered if I needed mine opened and by how much? I have a 6 gal portable plastic tank, the fuel line connector has 2 prongs on it, and it has a screw-in vent in the gas cap. I didn't have it opened before, and it ran fine (I've only had the boat 2 weeks).

Tank vent must be open when running, or the fuel pump will try to collapse the tank. You don't want to wind up running lean due to a straining pump. Always leave the vent open. Good luck!
