I just took my boat in for the post breakin check. They told me it was done and when I went to talk about a couple of issues, I asked them exactly how many hours I had on it and if they could verify the extra oiling as programmed into the engine's computer, was now turned off. They told me they did not know, that they actually did not hook up the software to see what is going on, etc. That this engine does not allow that and even if it was still incorrectly making extra oil mix, they would have to send the unit back to be replaced. I thought this ficht computer engine allowed them to see all kinds of things and that they would look at it as a matter of just general checkup of the engine. Am I wrong, is this something they do not do. Is it right for the dealer not to hook up a laptop to check things out? Can they not change some variables in the programming for whatever reason.

Also, this 17.5 Aquasport porpoises pretty bad and did not experience any additional speed when I dropped a 115 FICHT from a 90HP Jhonson (both new) - you may remember we addressed this earlier last month - they told me the porpoiseing will no go away as they installed a transom wedge. Does this make sense? They also told me the prop was spun out - what does that mean - can a prop spun out get me home or render the incapacitated - I got home just fine?
