possible kill switch

I have an evinrude 1985 35 h/p. I got to thinking about safety and I realized that i have no kill switch. I am trying to adapt the steering cables from the original motor 1965 35 hp to this engine. The 65 was a manual start, the 85 is elecrtic. I recieved some great advice concerning batteries and switches on my first post----ie. hooking up a bilge and fish finder. If it is possible to install a kill switch on the console with the other future controls I will put their, please let me no.<br /><br />ty again aiko09<br /><br />ps i have a duo 1966 boat

Hi aiko.....<br /><br />Should be simple. Look on the ignition switch for the wires connected to the post labeled "M". Run the kill switch wires to these posts. Don't matter which wire goes where.
