Serial Number for 1993? Evinrude

<br />I have a 1993 15HP Evinrude, supposedly. The serial number on the block is G3533611 and it does not correspond to any of the conventions I have been able to find. I would really like to know what year it is and any other info on it.<br />Thx,<br />Rodney<br />Captain, It'll Do!

Rodney ,We need the model number from the engine to tell you the year.Look on the transom bracket.

Thanks for the quick reply but one of the problems I have been having is that the plate with model # and stuff is missing. How can I determine the model # without it? I had been led to believe that the info could be determined by the serial number on the engine block that is why I gave it to you.<br />All I know for sure(?) is that it is a 15 horsepower, 2 cylinder, outowinding manual start, longshaft outboard motor made by evinrude. It was bought used by the previous owner from a boat shop in Florida to be used on his sailboat(now mine)and I want to do the planned maintenance and minor tune-ups. I do not feel real comfortable doing this without the proper bona fides on the motor.<br />Any other ideas or ways to determine what it is would be helpful.<br />Thx,<br />Rodney <br />Captain "It'll Do!"

how do you know its a 1993?<br />posting a number from the carb mite help.

Look on the powerhead for a small welsh (Freeze Plug looking) indented plug and see if there are any numbers or letters on it. Let us know!

Hi Again,<br />Finally had time to get the info you all needed to maybe get an answer to my earlier post as to what model, year, etc of my O/B.<br />I think the freeze plug # is G3533611. I don't know it is a 1993 for sure, that is just what the title says when I bought it with the boat. The info on the O/B is, the freeze plug # is G3533611. On the other side of the head is a number 336637.<br />I hope this helps you tell me what I have.<br />Thanks,
