The manual does'nt mention any time or length, only that the light will come on with the horn.

A dealer with the correct diagnostic software and a laptop or PDA can find out what code it is very quickly.<br /><br />It could also be something easy such as a malfunctioning gauge, as the CHECK ENGINE lite usually stays steady when there is a problem.<br /><br />Water in the fuel filter will also turn on that lite.
