omc oil hose replacement

i need to relocate oil tank on my 99 200 johnson. my manual say DO NOT splice hose to extend so i am going to replace the whole length of hose. does anyone know if i can just use 1/4" fuel hose as the existing factory hose is 1/4"?

fuel hose will work but will not last as long as the omc oil hose, i would go to a omc dealer and buy the correct hose

the omc part # is 345448 for the 25'feed hose and return hose is #333341 25'.fuel line will work but it wont last as long.
