In the process of installing Lenco trim tabs today. I bought the 12 x 12 edge mount kit with auto retract switch. Noticed the travel of the rear edge of the tabs are only about 3". Starting at 3/4" negative angle at fully retracted state, I get less than 3" of travel at the rear of the tab. The actuator has 2" of stroke but because of the extreme installation angle of the actuator the trim tabs move very little. Does that seem like enough travel on a trim tab to make a big difference at slower speeds? I've installed Bennett tabs before and as I recall, they had plenty of travel. Does any one have an idea of the amount of travel on their boats trim tabs?

Re: new trim tabs

The standard in the industry is about 25 degrees of deployment and this will come out to be about 3".

Re: new trim tabs

Thanks for the info nautiJohn. Guess I never really paid that much attention to the operation of the tabs other than to make sure they go up and down. Ended up calling the factory today for a problem with the switch. They said the same thing you stated about the tab travel. <br />Now I have to send the switch back because the auto retract will not stop retracting when I turn the key off. Oh well, got another month before I start using the boat again.
