15 HP CHOKES IN HIGH SPEED

[Helmo]

MY MOTOR IS A JOHNSON 15 HP, 1983.<br />THE MOTOR IDLES SMOOTH AND WORKS FINE IN LOW SPEED 'TILL I TRY TO GO FASTER IN MY BOAT AND WHEN I REACH A SPECIFIC RPM IT STALLS AND APPEARS TO ME LIKE'S CHOKING!!!!<br />I CAN REACH HIGH RPM IN NEUTRAL WITH NO PROBLEM.<br />I'VE JUST CHANGED THE SPARK PLUGS AND STILL THE SAME.<br />THANKS A LOT<br />HELMO

Welcome to the Board, Helmo.<br /><br />It sounds like you have a fuel supply problem.<br /><br />Check the venting of the fuel tank. Look for restrictions and air leaks in the fuel pickup in the tank and in the fuel lines and connectors.<br /><br />Finally, check your fuel pump for strong output.<br /><br />Good luck, let us know what you find. <br /><br />Please also don't use all capitals. It is viewed as shouting.
