1998 FICHT INFO needed

the engine is a 1998 Evinrude FICHT serial# G04413020 Model number E150FSXECR it has update tags on the motor that read as follows 1998 EC 5001212....1999 EE 5001213, does anyone know what those update tags mean and does knowing the serial num,ber enable me to access the history of the engine? Thanks again for any input on the subject

For the warranty history of the motor, contact the Evinrude/Johnson customer service folks @ 847-689-7090. They will need that serial number to access the history, be sure you have it available when you call.<br /><br />The two upgrade numbers don't quite make sense. The 5001212 is the cylinder head upgrade for the 98's, and the 5001213 is the cylinder head upgrade for the 1999 models - it shouldn't have both. Maybe a powerhead was installed in 1999 and it needed updates too?<br /><br />Hopefully a call can shed some light.<br /><br />-John

in 1998 the engine had a fuel lift pump as well as the computer replaced, when it was brand new basically, then in 2000 it had the update kit with new powerhead etc......no problems since. Thanks for the phone number
