I just re-powered from a Merc 115 2-stroke to a Johnson 140 4-stroke. The original trim gauge is a Teleflex. Will the same trim gauge work for either brand engine? My gauge is showing the opposite of the actual motor position, (up is down and down is up)I have checked and rechecked my wiring, black to "g", white/tan to "s", and purple to "I". The trim switch at the bow, control and engine work as they should (up is up, down is down).

Re: Trim Gauge

Many gauges are fairly universal, such as the tach, speedo, temp gauges, voltmeters, fuel gauges. Some gauges are manufacturer specific such as engine monitors, digital gauges, and trim gauges.

Re: Trim Gauge

If you changed your sender, you will need to change the gauge to an OMC trim gauge.
