Howdy RStirek.

Welcome to the board!

You can get or order your parts from any JohnnyRude dealer or from any NAPA Auto Parts Store.

Good luck. :)

P/N 388833 for the whole pump. You can get it here, or like JB said any Johnny/Rude dealer. I'm not sure that Sierra (NAPA's supplier) makes one for the 9.5.

Good luck!

Re: fuel pump rebuilding kit

Look at me, the newbie giving out my first advice. I just posted this topic 2 days ago, here's what you'll find. There is no replacement kit for the older evinrude/johnson motors, you have to buy a new fuel pump. You can attempt to use the newer replacement kit sold as Sierra part number 18-7823, that's about a $10 part. However, the holes do not match exactly and there's no guarantee that the seals will hold. For $35, you can order the entire fuel pump, offered as Sierra part number 18-7350. As mentioned above, the mastertech has them for $46, you can order it from this guy on ebay for $35, or you can order this part from boating solutions for $35 bucks as well if you don't want to use Ebay. Finally, if you have a West Marine in your area, you can call them, tell them you need Sierra part # 18-7350, they will tell you they have some in their warehouse and they can order it for you. It will take a week to get there and it is $42. Good luck, I'm in the same boat as you, I ordered mine from boating solutions, it's supposed to be here tomorrow.

Re: fuel pump rebuilding kit

I know the 9.5 is not specifically listed on those links I posted, however, according to this website, part# 7350 is a universal fuel pump for all J/E engines from 1956-1989 up to 25hp. Scroll down the page about a quarter of the way to the "replacement fuel pump" He sells his for $39.95

Mclaught: I think I speak for all of us here when I say we appreciate your posting. This board would never work without new people coming in and replying to other's questions. Please, keep posting. :)

But, what you probably don't know about the 9.5hp is that it's a bit of a weirdo engine. The layout is very different from the 1.5hp-40hp from the '60s. For example, the (downdraft) carburator is on the side of the engine, toward the back. One of the differences is that the fuel pump is unique compared to all the other small hp engines, and appears to be very different from 18-7350.

I acutally checked into your old post before replying to this, just to check that pump you were using. I am personally interested to find out how you make out with that pump. It's a fairly new offering from Sierra, which partly explains why I missed it the first time. :)

EDIT: Have a look at this. The fuel pump is on the lower right side.

Re: fuel pump rebuilding kit

Yeah, when I noticed the 9.5 wasn't listed under the 7350 part, I started to think I'd missed something. Then that one site said that pump was universal for all the older engines, so I figured, whatever, maybe it does. I guess to the original poster I offer my apologies for getting your hopes up, I've been searching pretty good for these parts and I haven't come across anything specifically for the 9.5hp. That original idea to contact the Mastertech guy would probably be the best bet at this point. And Paul, I'll keep posting if I can actually add anything intelligent to the discussion... those opportunies are probably far and few between.
