I have a fair amount of corrosion inside of the female electrical sockets at the end of the cable assembly for the power trim on the inside of the transom. There are multiple sockets in a red cannon plug (like the one on the side of the motor itself). It looks like if I could get them clean and snug that I would have a good contact.

Are there any tips for cleaning the crud out and squeezing each connector to get a better contact?

I have from time to time just cleaned them with wd-40 or pb blaster. Then take compressed air to blow them out. Then spray a little silcone spray in them.

A small jewelers rattail file works. Get's in there pretty neat. Then like bubba says, blow out with WD-40 and compressed air.
