I have a 15' Boston Waler with a 1986 70 hp Johnson engine. The engine was running perfectly at about 4000 rpm's and suddenly stall. It cranks but will not start. I check the spark plugs for any spark but there was none. Any assistance will be highly appreciated.

Is your kill switch lanyard hooked up?

DJ may be on the right track here.If you have the original side mount controls the safety lanyard switch is held closed with a rubber cap that tends to get stretchd out to the point of the switch button closing (coming out)and grounding the ignition.Check this first before digging deeper into the problem.Remove the cap and have an assistant hold it in firmly while you attempt to start the engine. You may be able to do it yourself.Good luck.

Welcraft26,Did OceanBaby post the question for you?If so,by "not connected "do you mean bypassed or just the clip removed.
