evinrude 4 lightwin wont start

i was smart enough to run the engine in a test bucket of water<br />today i took the carb apart and cleaned it and removed any trace of full and gunk that i could find<br />i will check into gettin the manual and running a compression test

Gees, where to begin....<br />Were you running this motor in water (test tank, or on a boat)??<br />Did you have ANY oil mixed with the gas??<br /><br />Repair the starter rope.<br />Remove plugs<br />Do a compression test of both cylinders.<br />Post your compression readings...we'll go from there....

Go to FAQ. Follow suggestions in "Outboard Wont Start".<br /><br />Let us know what you find.<br /><br />Running the engine without oil will destroy your engine. That may have already happened. Use mixed fuel only.<br /><br />Running engine out of water will destroy your water pump impeller and overheat the engine. You probably need to change it.<br /><br />Working on an outboard without a manual is a great way to learn by destruction. Don't do it.<br /><br />Good luck.
