Does any one know how much a Pivot tube or Tilt tube (I've heard it called both) cost and is it a dealer part only. It is the tube that the steering cable runs through at the motor end.

It's been called the steering tube on occasion also. Yes you can get them through a dealer. What's the engine? Is your tube bent or something like that, that it couldn't be brushed out and used?

Thanks I'm headed to the Dealer this morning to take a look. I recently bought a boat off a friend that beat the bajesus out of the tube trying to get the steering cable out. It's a little dinged up, so I figured I would replace it as I replace the steering cable. Almost forgot it is a 25hp Evinrude Tracker

More than likely, about $70.00-$90.00 at a dealer for a stainless tube.
