Hi guys,
I'm a newbie on here from the UK. I've just bought a boat with an Evinrude Lark 50hp engine model number:502730 sn:B3073 with an electric gearbox and the prop is damaged. The only number on the prop are on the side between the blades (11271PP) and near the splines (5456PP). I am going to use it on a 15ft speedboat. Does anyone recognise these numbers as being OMC? My local supplier doesn't. If not could anyone suggest the correct size prop for this engine with any part numbers to help my dealer source one.
Any help appreciated.
Cheers,
Terry.

Welcome Even Ruder

I would say a 15" pitch prop would be close for your 72' Lark. Depends on the boat style and such, but that should get you close to where you need to be. You need a Tachometer to really find out for sure. This one is easy to hook up if you don't have one already:

www.tinytach.com

Call them to make sure you get the proper one, should you decide on this one..

Thanks Rick.
Any idea what diameter I should go for? Nothing on the prop gives me a clue.
Thanks
Terry.

I have a Lark 40hp w/ electric shift, and the prop diameter is about 9 1/4 in. There is an inch gap between the blades and the lower unit. You could try figuring out the radius and subtract an inch, and double it for the diameter.

Don,t know if that helps at all.

Those numbers look like numbers a prop repair shop has stamped on the prop after a reapir.

Is this the prop and motor that were on the speedboat you want to use it on?

BTW -- the 40 Lark and the 50 Lark mentioned are completely different motors.

Look like a 13 3/4" X 15" pitch would be about right.

I also have a 71 Evinrude Lark 50 HP. As rickdb says, mine has a 13 3/4 X 15.

Re: Prop size for Evinrude Lark 50hp

Thank you everyone. Got a 13 3/4 x 15" coming by courier tomorrow. All that's left now is to get the power tilt working (motor) and the carbs back on after cleaning out all the old petrol.
But that's another story. Oh well....that's boats for ya.
Cheers Everyone
Terry.
