New plugs, new fuel lines, rebuilt the fuel pump and rebuilt the carb.... also new primer bulb.. Once tne motor starts usually 20 pulls or so with spraying gas in throat of carb the motor will idle and run fine all day.. If I stop the motor and us the trolling motor the motor cools down and is really hard to start again... All of your inputs have helped me in the past and sure is apprecieated.... Thanks Charlie

Hiya,

Does the spark look good? Is your choke closing properly? Have you tried turning your low speed rich/lean knob about 1/8 to 1/4 turn towards rich for cold starts?

HTH,

Brent

have you seen this article? A great piece about these motors...

15 hp maintenance article

I really suspect it's the choke sticking open... if spark is weak, then some more troubleshooting is in order.

When you spray premix in the carb, do you have to open the choke first (to move it out of the way)? or is it "conveniently" open?

Brent
