Hi All, I just put a deposit on a 1999 Key West 2020 WA w/a 150 Suzuki.

Any opinions out there?

Yup.

We get lots of requests for opinions on something a member already bought. The only thing we can do is either criticize or reinforce the decision.

The time that experienced opinions matter is BEFORE you buy something.

Re: Boat Opinions

My neighbor owns a KeyWest and it seems to be a pretty good little boat. Of course it didn't cost him much; won it in a lottery. But he runs it a lot and is pretty happy with it.

Re: Boat Opinions

I see quite a few of them around here and they have a pretty good reputation with the local fishermen and mechanics. Like anything else they probably have their good & bad points. Take care of it and enjoy it.

I like the boat a lot and dont like the motor at all.Mainly because they are difficult to get serviced. Not many Suzuki dealers around and nooooooobody else will touch them.Charlie

Re: Boat Opinions

JB, I can understand that. The deposit is 100% refundable and I haven't even taken it out for a test ride yet, so I am interested in any feedback pos. or neg.....Thanks

Doing fine John, thanks for asking. If this damm wind would lay down life would be perfect. How are things with you? I've been spreading the word about the tabs down here. A lot of people have asked about them after seeing them on our boat.

Re: Boat Opinions

Make sure you take it for good sea trial. That 150 is a little weak for a 22' WAC. My old 22'WAC came with a 150 and I got rid of it for a 225. The 225 was a little big, but the 150 was way to small. Don't buy the stuff you will hear about fuel economy with the 150. A Key west is a solid boat that needs a good size engine to push her.
Stalker
