STARTING SPEED TO HIGH

FIRST START OF THE DAY, 88RUDE, ELECTRIC START<br />35HP. WITH THE START LEVER UP,ELECT,CHOKE ENGAGED THE MOTOR WILL START<br />AND RUNS VERY FAST,COLD MOTOR NOT GOOD.<br />I CAN NOT FIND ANYTHING IN THE CLYMERS MANUAL<br />THAT ADDRESSES ADJUSTMENTS.<br />APPRECIATE ANY COMMENTS ON THIS MATTER.

i forgot to mention, that the only place the motor will start is with the start lever in the full up position. i have tried with the lever in various locations.<br /><br />thanks.

Sounds like your throttle cable needs adjusted.

In that case I'd say a carb overhaul and cleaning is in order
