I have a 1988 225 Johnson on a 22' foot Mckee Craft. At what RPM is it ok to run the engine at at cruising speed. I typically run it at about 3900 to 4000 rpm, but someone told me I should not run it over 2500 rpm, which at that speed it doesn't run very fast. Thanks, Cato

Engine speed. Does your boat have a tachometer? What does it indicate at wot (wide open throttle) with an average load in the boat?

c/6
Hooty
