Thanks to everyone for trying to help the problem is solved the float was leaking replaced it through the carb back on .she topped out at 38mph at 5200 rpm went back to the dock checked the plugs nice tan colour but changed the champions to NGK 's and she topped out at 40 almost 41 at 5200 so I think she's all dolled up again ps might half the electrode and see if I can get 43mph Thanks again guys

Changing the plugs couldn't have increased your speed from 38 to 40mph since both were at 5200 rpm. Someting else such as load or placement of load would be likely to have to affected the top speed.

Generaly NGK's belong in Mercs.Some Omc 4STK are running them though.What # NGK's are you running?<br />DHP<br /><br />I don't know why you saw that MPH increase either.<br />But I am not doubting what you say.Just wonder why.

It pops out of the water quicker with the NGK's [BR7HS]also you cam use AC M40FFX I find all the champion usually crap out much quicker but I could be wrong sinceI have only 10 years experince with OMC , Merc"s are more my thing 30 years with them
