Hi,

I just bought a boat with a Johnson 150 HP. The motor has 75PSI even in all pistons and it runs fine. However, after running it fast for 15 minutes, it runs out of gas. The hand pump gets all sucked in and I have to disconnect it from the intake side. It will gain it's shape and then I'm able to pump gas to the motor again. It will run for another 15 mintes and do the same. I removed the gas cap to see if when air goes into the tank it would fix the problem and nothing.

Any ideas??

As I have learned from the experts here, they would propably check for a stuck inlet in the tank (something preventing gas from entering the tank "hose". This could be checked with a spare tank outside and a spare fuel line to the engine.

Where to you disconnect the pumo BTW. ?

I disconnect it from the intake.

To confirm boatsrfun diagnosis try a different fuel tank. Bet that is the problem.

I will try that and let you know. If that is the problem, do you have any idea where to find the tank air inlets?

Thank you

depends on your tank I think.
I have a metal tank in the "fuel pick up elbow" is screwed with as a round plate with 8 or so screws to the tank top. Unscrewing I get the metal rod with a filter out.

I don't have much experience with other tanks

good luck
