I need to make my own wiring harness for this motor model #40352 that I just picked up. The harness on the motor has, apart from the starter cables, 6 wires. The beige #2 and blue #4 are capped off. The other 4, 2 blacks, a white and a brown are in a 8 prong plug. Can anyone tell me how to wire this up..? Thanks in advance.. :D

I don't have a direct answer for you, but you may want to have a look at this schematic I put together for '62-'64 28hp engines. It should be similiar but the wire colours may be a little different:
Schematic, click here.

If you don't have a generator, eliminate the regulator too. If your choke isn't electric, eliminate that too. I belive the blue wire is for the overheat light. If you have a sender attached to the head, this is what it's for. It grounds out that wire when the engine overheats.

Hope this helps a bit!
