I tried to search for this before posting another question about VRO, but I haven't found an exact answer to my question.

I have a 1990 Evinrude 150 XP. The VRO had been removed by a previous owner. I mix the gas 50:1 in the tank but I believe I am still get the low oil flow alarm. It is the 1/2 second alarm every 1/2 to 1 second (depending on engine RPM). I want to disable this alarm but not effect the over temperature alarm. I am not 100% sure where to do this at. Do I unplug and tape up the wiring harness that is on the back of the VRO pump or do I just cut the tan wire in that bundle?
Any pictures would be very helpful.
Thanks in advance, Procraft 1780

Trace the harness from the original vro pump back to its 3 or 4 wire connector and unplug it.I believe your engine has the 4 wire harness.Secure both ends. Then trace the two wire lead from the vro oil reservoir back to its connector/s under the motor cover and unplug them. This will disable the low oil alarm. The temp sensors will not be affected by performing the above. If you are currently using the original vro pump as a concventional 50:1 pumper, make sure thatb the oil inlet to vro has been capped or otherwise sealed off,so it won't injest air.

Rapid short tones is the no oil alarm, indicating that the vro harness is still connected. One short tone every 40 secs is the oil reservoir low level alarm.

Thanks for the info OB. The oil reservoir has already been removed and the pump's oil inlet is plugged.
