To make a long story short. I have been boating for the last 30 years and never used a tach. Never had a motor go to hell. It scares me when I read that not running the correct rpms will kill a motor. So I was going to check out what rpms I am running. <br /><br />I guess I am checking to see if my luck is holding out.<br /><br />Maybe cheap is not the correct term. Maybe should have said auto tach.<br /><br />Thanks
I got a tiny tach 2c model for a 89 40hp johnson that reads double. Be sure to check w/ them which model to use. It works well except I have to divide by 2 & has hour meter that works right.
I recently contaced tinytach for my 2002 25hp Johnson 2 cylinder 2 stroke. They recommended the 1C model and wrap three turns of the wire around each spark plug wire.
