servicing my 20hp 1987 johnson outboard

hello, i want to service my johnson 20hp outboard, model number BJ20BFLCUR, but have no manuals. can anyone explain briefly how to change the gearbox oil and impeller as i have never worked on an outboard before but have pretty good general mechanical knowledge. many thanks from suffolk, uk.

welcome to iboats!<br />as far as the lower unit, there are 2 plugs 1 lower 1 upper, pull both, drain oil, change ring seal on each plug, fill to top hole from lower hole. I'll let someone that knows your engine better explain the impeller change. Best to get a manual though.
