any 1 tell me how to lift a 150 Johnson off the transom ?

It has one hook on right side cylinder that might can be used, but dont want to damage anything. In the past I had a yamaha and it had a hook installed from the factory ? any help would be greatly appreciated,as I am going to install a jackplate this week.

Welcome!!<br /><br />There are a couple of 150's so it might help to know exactly which one you have. We assume (I know, I know) that its a 60 degree 150. If so there is another "hook" on the port side. Its best to use a spreader bar and chains. Be careful on the starboard side. You can damage that linkage if youre not careful. <br /><br />If you dont have a 60 degree looper then pay no attention to me...thats a different deal.

Nice rig! That'll make a world of difference. I'm suprised it didnt already have a jackplate. Did you get a manual or hydraulic? What brand?

I got a T&H pro Hijacker- 6" Manual.....The boat came from my fathers CPA and he never was much for speed therfore no jackplate. It will run 67 GPS the way it sets, but I hope to improve top end a little and get a little more bow lift with the plate added. Thanks Again !
